Public Meeting Tomorrow Re Long-Range Housing & Transport Vision
Riverside meeting will review Connect SoCal, a 25-year 'visioning' plan for the region's economic, environmental and public health goals

LOS ANGELES β The Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG) has released a draft of their Regional Transportation Plan/Sustainable Communities Strategy, covering the period from 2020 to 2045.
The draft plan, entitled Connect SoCal, is being presented to elected officials tomorrow, Wednesday at Riversideβs County Office complex at 4080 Lemon Street. The two-hour meeting will commence at 9.30am. The meeting is free and open to the public.
According to a statement released by SCAG the Draft Connect SoCal plan presents a long-range vision designed to balance future mobility and housing needs with economic, environmental and public health goals. It will help guide the regionβs growth, and includes transportation improvements and land use ideas to shape the future of Southern California.

Wednesdayβs briefing, one of a series of meetings SCAG is conducting around the region, is designed to serve as an opportunity to inform elected officials, stakeholders and the community on the key investments and strategies contained in the draft plan and solicit feedback.
This week briefings will also take place in Los Angeles, Culver City and San Diego. SCAG will also hold a Saturday briefing and a webinar for those unable to attend the weekday sessions.

Comments on the plan can be submitted any time before January 20. Copies of the plan are also available for viewing at the public and institutional libraries in the region, including Riverside, Ontario and Pomona city libraries, UC Riverside and the University of Redlands. Wednesday's meeting is scheduled for 9.30am at the County of Riverside complex, 4080 Lemon St, Riverside, CA 92501. Attendance is free and the public are welcome.
