Redlands 'Wreaths Across America' Event Set For Saturday

National Wreaths Across America Day is Saturday, Dec. 14. In Redlands, the ceremony begins at 9 am within Hillside Memorial Park.

REDLANDS, CA -- Wreaths Across America, a nonprofit organization founded to continue and expand the annual wreath-laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery begun in 1992, is holding it's annual event Saturday, Dec. 14, and a Redlands cemetery will participate.

Wreaths Across America's mission is carried out in part each year by coordinating wreath-laying ceremonies in December at Arlington, as well as at hundreds of veterans’ cemeteries and other locations in all 50 states and beyond.

In Redlands, the ceremony will begin at 9 a.m. and will take place at Veteran Circle located on the north end of the cemetery within Hillside Memorial Park. The event is free and open to the public.

In 2018, nearly 1.8 million veteran wreaths were placed on headstones at 1,640 participating cemeteries around the country in honor of the service and sacrifices made for our freedoms, with each name said out loud.
