A young boy died this week after falling into the family pool, sheriff's officials are reporting.
The incident happened around 5:22 p.m. Tuesday at a home off Archibald, north of the 210 freeway, in Rancho Cucamonga, according to San Bernardino County Sheriff's Det. Angelo Bautista.
"The mother of a 23-month-old called 911 to report her child wasn't breathing after falling into the swimming pool," Bautista reported in a news release.
According to the coroner's office, "when paramedics arrived they found adults attempting cardiopulmonary resuscitation on 23 month-old Riley Giordano."
Paramedics took Giordano to San Antonio Community Hospital where he died a short time later.
