Brush Fire Shuts Down Crenshaw Boulevard In Torrance

REDONDO BEACH, CA – All northbound lanes on Crenshaw Boulevard between Rolling Hills Road and Crest Road were closed to traffic due to possible wires down and a small brush fire, according to officials in Torrance. Traffic was diverted to Rolling Hills Drive while police and firefighters worked on the scene.

The fire was first reported about 3:15 p.m., a fire official told Daily Breeze. Northbound lanes are expected to be reopened by 4:30 p.m.

“A couple Mylar balloons got tangled in the power lines, a couple power lines dropped and started a small 20-by-30-foot brush fire,” Treskes told the newspaper.
