Previous or Current Elected or Appointed Office
Board Member West Basin Municipal Water District Div.3
The single most pressing issue facing our (state, district, community, etc.) is _______, and this is what I intend to do about it.
Southern California is semi-arid region, drought is becoming a norm. If re-elected, I would continue to implement sustainable water policies that will protect our precious sources.
What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
I have been the eyes, ears and voice during my time on the board serving my constituents. I stand by my record and my commitment to protecting our environment and helping identifying new innovative ideas on bringing affordable water to our district.
If you are a challenger, in what way has the current officeholder failed the community (or district or constituency)
Describe the other issues that define your campaign platform
I opposed a potentially harmful and expensive ocean desalination plant along our beach and will continue to advocate for water conservation and the increased of recycled water.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
I have dedicated my tenure to implementing environmentally friendly solutions
and initiated the West Basin's annual Water Harvest Festival, a free event that educates the community about water conservation.
If you win this position, what accomplishment would make your term in office as a success?
To keep on working with the Environmental Organizations to pass legislation
to allow recycled water for direct potable reuse.
Why should voters trust you?
Transparency is what we expected of the West Basin. I standby my record of serving the West Board and the public for the past many years,
What are your views on fiscal policy, government spending and the use of taxpayer dollars in the office you are seeking?
We should be fiscal conservative. As elected we should be very careful of spending taxpayer dollars. Again Transparency is what we expected of the West Basin.
Is there any reason you would not serve your full term of office, other than those of health or family?
No.
The best advice ever shared with me was ...
Whatever you do-give it 200%
What else would you like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
In 1996, I was the first Asian American and first woman to be elected to the West Basin Board of Directors. My commitment and my dedication to ensure safe, clean, affordable water for all. I understand that the COVID 19 has had a significant impact on our community, that's why I voted against the most recent West Budget and its water rate increases.
