COVID-19 Vaccine Appointments Open Up In The South Bay

COVID-19 vaccination appointments are opening up at two South Bay locations this week, Beach Cities Health District announced.

REDONDO BEACH, CA — COVID-19 vaccination appointments are opening up this week at two locations in the South Bay, Beach Cities Health District told Patch Wednesday.

BCHD's AdventurePlex has appointments for this Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m. Vaccination appointments are open to anyone living or working in Los Angeles County age 16 and older. The Pfizer vaccine will be administered, organizers said. AdventurePlex is located at 1701 Marine Ave., Manhattan Beach.

Appointments are required. Sign up for an appointment at MyTurn.ca.gov.

Teens ages 16 and 17 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who can provide consent for the vaccination. Pfizer is the only authorized vaccine for this age group, organizers said.

A clinic partnership with South Bay Family Health Care and BCHD also has vaccination appointments Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at 514 N. Prospect Ave., Redondo Beach. The Moderna vaccine will be administered at the Redondo Beach clinic. For teens ages 16 and 17, the Moderna vaccine is not authorized for this age group.

Appointments are required: Sign up for an appointment by calling South Bay Family Health Care at 310-802-6170.

Additional vaccine clinics at AdventurePlex will be scheduled and announced as vaccine supply is confirmed, organizers said.
