DUI Patrols Planned In The South Bay For Cinco De Mayo

Torrance police announced DUI patrols on Cinco de Mayo, urging people to be safe.

TORRANCE, CA — Drivers in the South Bay were urged to celebrate Cinco de Mayo responsibly during small gatherings or virtual hangouts Wednesday night, and by having a sober driver, Torrance police said.

The Torrance Police Department plans to have additional officers on patrol from 4 p.m. to midnight who are looking for drivers suspected of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, officials said.

“Don’t ruin the celebrations by putting yourself and others at risk and driving impaired,” Sgt. David Koenig said. “If you’re planning on drinking, plan on getting a sober ride home.”
