Fiery Palm Tree Crashes Through Window, Damages Torrance Seminary
The fire triggered sprinklers to be set off inside the building and a second alarm response.

REDONDO BEACH, CA – A palm tree fire caused damage Sunday in a private school building in Torrance, authorities said.
The fire was reported about 9:30 p.m. at the Cohen University and Theological Seminary in the 17000 block of Prairie Avenue, a Torrance fire department operator said.
The flames started in a palm tree that collapsed and broke through a window at the school, she said.

A second alarm response was called due to the commercial nature of the structure and to clear out the water in the building from sprinklers set off by the fire.
No injuries were reported and firefighters cleared the scene after about an hour.
