Redondo Beach Hazardous Waste Disposal Planned For Saturday
A household hazardous waste collection event will be held in Redondo Beach on Saturday.
REDONDO BEACH, CA — People are taking on more projects at home than ever before due to the pandemic, however, regular trash collection does not cut it for some items, including batteries or chemicals, according to Veolia North America, which manages and operates waste management in Redondo Beach.
A hazardous waste collection will help Redondo Beach locals safely dispose of these materials on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center, 1935 Manhattan Beach Blvd.
Veolia North America is providing residents with a legal and cost-free way to dispose of unwanted household items that cannot be disposed of in the regular trash.

"Since the outbreak of COVID-19, people across the region have been staying inside more than usual, doing DIY projects around the house and creating more waste," the company said. "Because of this, local residents are encouraged to attend this household hazardous waste event. If not disposed of properly, toxic waste can harm people, animals and plants, whether it ends up in the ground, in streams or even in the air."
