Grange Melds Modern Elements Into A Traditional Location

Housed in the ground floor of the Citizen Hotel in Sacramento, Grange restaurant showcases locally grown ingredients to produce a seasonally driven menu.

Grange has a large open dining room with huge concrete pillars, wood floors, an extended add on darker toned sidewalk/patio dining area, orange banquettes and modern unique light fixtures. The space is beautiful and provides diners a variety of places to enjoy a meal.

The upstairs dining area is quieter than the bustling long bar area downstairs and provides views of the entire restaurant, as well as a glass surrounded room for private parties. The downstairs private dining room features a large colorful mural of a dining table feast, a lively bar, cozy banquette and tables as well as the built on glass enclosed dining area.

Standout appetizers include house made ricotta cavatelli with English peas, ham and parmesan cream and the house made charcuterie plate with ciccioli, duck liver mousse, chicken truffle terrine, pickles and grilled bread.

Entrees include Alaskan halibut with a sushi rice cake, rock shrimp, radish, bok choy and a herb salad; a Niman Ranch rib eye with cippiolinis, cheddar broccoli puree, potatoes and a bone marrow sauce, English pea risotto with mushrooms, confit lemon, peas and carrots and lamb, chicken and salmon dishes.

There is a short list of sides, all are delicious and they include grilled asparagus, peas and carrots, roasted mushrooms and beef fat potatoes.

Desserts include a milk chocolate caramel Grange bar; cardamom beignets; strawberry rhubarb gallette, buttermilk panna cotta and an affogato.

Grange also has an extensive variety of craft cocktails. Whether you are staying at the hotel and want to grab a drink and a bit at the bar, on a date or catching up with a group of people, Grange offers seasonal dishes in an inviting atmosphere.
