Suspicious Death In Otay Mesa West Under Investigation
A man died Thursday after he showed up at his girlfriend's Otay Mesa West home bleeding from wounds to his upper body, police said.
SAN DIEGO, CA β A 38-year-old man died early Thursday after he showed up at his girlfriend's Otay Mesa West home, bleeding from what authorities described as as "suspicious wounds" to his upper body.
The woman made an emergency call shortly before 3:30 a.m. to report that she awoke to find her boyfriend lying unresponsive in the entryway of her residence in the 3200 block of Caminito Quixote, according to San Diego police.
Paramedics pronounced the victim dead at the scene, Lt. Andra Brown said. The cause of death was unclear and his name was withheld pending family notification.

Homicide detectives were called in to take charge of the case.
"It is still early in the investigation, and little is known about the circumstances surrounding the (man's) death. ... It is unknown if (he) was injured inside the residence or elsewhere," Brown said Thursday afternoon.
