List of Most Popular Baby Names for Boys, Girls in San Diego Revealed

Of the 45,000 or so babies born in 2015 in San Diego County, here are the names most frequently chosen.

SAN DIEGO, CA: Mia was the most popular name for babies in San Diego County in 2015, the county Health and Human Services Agency reported Monday.

Of the 45,000 or so babies born in the region last year, 272 were named Mia. Close behind for girls was Emma, at 272.

The most popular boys name was Noah, with 239. Coming close for second with 234 was Liam.

Rounding out the top 10 list for girls were Isabella, Olivia, Sophia, Sofia, Emily, Ava, Victoria and Charlotte, according to the HHSA.

The agency said the rest of the most popular boys names last year were Daniel, Ethan, Jacob, Alexander, Oliver, Sebastian, Benjamin and David.

The names generally reflected those found on national lists.

Noah and Liam also led a U.S. ranking of most popular boys names at nameberry.com. The girl's section was led by Emma, and Mia ranked sixth.
