Man Seriously Hurt When Scooter Crashes Into SUV In North Park
A 20-year-old man suffered serious injuries when the scooter he was riding collided with an SUV in the North Park area, police said.

SAN DIEGO, CA β A 20-year-old man suffered serious injuries when the scooter he was riding collided with an SUV in the North Park area, police said Wednesday.
The crash happened about 10:55 p.m. Tuesday on Cypress Avenue near Park Boulevard, east of state Route 163, San Diego police Officer John Buttle said.
A 62-year-old man driving a Chevrolet Trailblazer SUV entered westbound Cypress Avenue without yielding, Buttle said. At the same time, a 20- year-old man was riding a motorized scooter southbound in the east alley of Park Boulevard and collided with the right front door of the westbound Chevy.

The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment of a fractured skull, a broken rib and contusions on both lungs, injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening, the officer said.
The SUV driver remained at the scene and was uninjured, Buttle said.
