Man Shot In Drive-By Shooting In Valencia Park Neighborhood

SAN DIEGO, CA — A 53-year-old man was hospitalized following a drive-by shooting in the Valencia Park neighborhood, police said Wednesday.

The shooting was reported about 8:45 p.m. Tuesday on Churchward Street near Los Alamos Drive, San Diego police Officer Robert Heims said.

Investigators determined the victim was sitting in his car when another car drove by and opened fire, hitting the victim in the back and one of his legs, Officer Dino Delimitros said.

The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment of his injuries, which were not believed to be life-threatening, Delimitros said.

The 53-year-old man was unable to provide a description of the shooter, Heims said. The suspect vehicle was described as a tan or gold sedan that was last seen heading toward Imperial Avenue.
