The site will be open from Tuesday to Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

SAN DIEGO, CA — Qualifying San Diegans will soon have yet another opportunity to get vaccinated against the coronavirus.
San Diego County and San Diego State University are teaming up to offer free vaccines against the COVID-19 virus at Viejas Arena, the county announced in a press release. The site will open Tuesday and vaccinate 700 people each day this week. Depending on supply, the site can scale up to offer 1,500 vaccine appointments each day.
According to the release, vaccines appointments will be provided from Tuesday to Saturday between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

Health officials on Sunday also reported that 797,640 -- or 29.7% of San Diego County residents over the age of 16 -- have received at least one dose of the two-shot vaccines, and 495,175 people -- or 18.4% -- have been fully vaccinated.
Nearly 1.44 million COVID-19 vaccine doses have been delivered to the region, and more than 1.4 million have been logged as administered. That number includes both county residents and those who work in San Diego County.

County Board of Supervisors Chairman Nathan Fletcher said more vaccines are on the way -- 10% more this week than last week, in this case -- but that the supply still is not keeping up with demand. Nevertheless, the 30 vaccinations sites in the county had room to expand.
"We are well positioned," Fletcher said. "We can do significantly more doses each day than we are doing."
