Rubio’s To Give Away Free, Reusable Totes For World Oceans Day
While supplies last, California restaurants will hand out the freebies Monday and Tuesday with any purchase.

SAN DIEGO, CA — To mark World Oceans Day 2020, Rubio's Coastal Grill restaurants throughout California will hand out free, reusable tote bags to customers on Monday and Tuesday — a giveaway tradition now in its ninth year and in keeping with the San Diego-based chain's efforts to support ocean sustainability.
The clear totes are available with any purchase — either at a restaurant or online, excludng third-party delivery. No coupon is necessary, and the offer is good while supplies last.
The 100-percent recyclable bags, made from 78-percent recyclable material, could be handy at picnics or for a day at the pool or beach, and are approved for use at sports events and concerts, the company said.

“We’ve missed spending weekends enjoying the beach during quarantine, and Rubio’s is passionate about keeping our oceans clean and safe for generations to come,” said Ralph Rubio, co-founder of the chain, home of the Original Fish Taco® .
The restaurateur added that his business is dedicated to ocean conservation serving dishes featuring sustainable or responsibly sourced seafood, along with using reusable catering bags, Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI)-certified paper cups and compostable takeout containers.
