SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CA — U.S. Border Patrol agents rescued four people early Monday, including an unaccompanied pregnant teenager, near Tecate Peak in San Diego County.
Authorities received a report around 1 a.m. of four lost migrants near the mountain, which is about a half-mile north of the U.S.-Mexico border, according to the Border Patrol's San Diego-area office. Agents found all four people in good health, including a pregnant 15-year-old. In addition to the girl, there was also a 16-year-old unaccompanied boy, a 19-year-old man and a 38-year-old man.
"Further questioning the group, agents determined all four people were Mexican nationals in the United States illegally," Border Patrol spokesperson Shane Crottie said.
