SDCCU, which serves Southern California customers in Imperial, Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara and Ventura counties, has supported the San Diego Blood Bank for more than 20 years.
"Blood donations are especially critical at this time of year after a busy winter season, and this year has been especially challenging," SDCCU officials said. " While an increased need for blood exists, donations have decreased due to businesses and community partners being unable to host normal drives because of newly implemented work-from-home policies and restrictions on gatherings."
