SAN DIEGO, CA – Halle Berry, trailers and nostalgia reigned supreme at Comic-Con San Diego’s opening day Thursday. Day two will see "The Walking Dead," "Game of Thrones" and "The Defenders."
Egged on by fans during a panel discussion with Berry’s fellow cast members from the upcoming film, “Kingsman: The Golden Circle,” the Oscar-winning actress quickly emptied a glassful of "whiskey" — and she playfully dropped to the stage, earning cheers from the crowd.
“Why do I have this much, and why do they have that much, is what I want to know,” Berry said before the audience chanted “chug.”

The cast and crew of Netflix’s upcoming features, “Bright” and “Death Note,” also took the stage at the coveted Hall H to talk about their respective films and to showcase new trailers.
Both “Bright” star Will Smith and director David Ayer praised Netflix for being an industry game changer.

“It’s interesting to be at the forefront of a new way to consume entertainment. I’m extremely excited to see where this thing goes. There’s been a lot of debate about it,” said Smith.
Ayer echoed the same sentiment: “Netflix is the opposite of what the real situation is with other filmmakers. They’re going to pull a lot more talent. They’re supportive of the process. It feels like it’s 20 years ago with them.”

It’s not a surprise that the end of FX’s “The Strain” is coming, so the cast and crew of the vampire drama showcased special footage of the ending Thursday afternoon.
The panelists included co-creator Chuck Hogan, showrunner Carlton Cuse and cast members Corey Stoll, David Bradley, Kevin Durand, Ruta Gemintas, Miguel Gomez, Richard Sammel and Max Charles.

“Not everyone survives. The fun thing of the show is, we get to play out the end of that narrative. You’ll find it cool and surprising,” teased Cuse.
The second day of 2017 Comic-Con International will see “The Walking Dead” cast and crew preview Season 8 at Hall H from 12:15 p.m. – 1:15 p.m.
HBO’s “Game of Thrones” panel will also take the stage at Hall H from 1:30 p.m – 2:30 p.m. Expected to appear are cast members Sophie Turner, Alfie Allen, Gwendoline Christie, Jacob Anderson, Liam Cunningham, Nathalie Emmanuel, Conleth Hill, John Bradley and Isaac Hempstead Wright.
Fans will also see Netflix’s “The Defenders” (Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist), Marvel’s street-level superheroes take center stage at Hall H from 5:15 p.m. – 6:15 p.m.
Also on tap for Hall H Friday are a 10th anniversary panel on “The Big Bang Theory” along with panels on “Twin Peaks” and “Preacher.”
Comic-Con, the annual celebration of the popular arts, will run through Sunday at the convention center, Central Library, Hilton Bayfront Hotel, the Horton Grand Theatre and the Marriott Marquis Hotel and Marina. Organizers are urging the use of public transit because of the huge crowds of attendees and gawkers expected in downtown San Diego over the next few days.
