San Diego Human Society Teaching Kids About Animals From Home

At-home projects let kids complete crafts and engage virtually with other like-minded area kids.

SAN DIEGO, CA β€” A new program from the San Diego Humane Society aims to help area children safely learn about animals from home during the coronavirus pandemic.

The two new youth programs β€” Camp in a Box and the Critter Kids Club β€” are for children ages 7 to 11 and aim to help improve human-animal bonds and prevent cruelty and neglect.

Students who sign up for Camp in a Box, which lasts from March 29 to April 2, will receive a package containing crafts and projects that they can complete on their own. Boxes cost $25 and must be picked up from SDHS's San Diego Campus.
