San Diego Press Club Awards Program Recognized for Creativity

47th Annual Excellence in Journalism Awards streamed live from the San Diego Automotive Museum in Balboa Park

The San Diego Press Club is a recipient of The COVID-19 Award for its creativity, resourcefulness, and storytelling in the production of the 47th Annual Excellence in Journalism Awards program. The award was presented by One Club San Diego, a nonprofit supporting the marketing and advertising community.

“While we weren’t able to gather in person as usual with more than 400 of our colleagues and friends,” said Terry Williams, Executive Director – San Diego Press Club, “we brought together creativity and a passion for excellence to recognize the outstanding work of journalists and communicators.”

The 47th Annual Excellence in Journalism Awards was streamed live on Facebook from the San Diego Automotive Museum in Balboa Park and viewed by more than 2,500 people.

The judges remarked: “Club members expect this level of creativity and respect for the process of honoring their work, announcing the best of show awards, the lifetime achievement awards, and presenting scholarships.” This recognition of the Press Club was one of nineteen awarded on June 21, 2021.
