SD Humane Society Lowers Fees On 180+ Kittens Who Need Homes
The San Diego Humane Society reduced adoption fees for nearly 200 kittens and offered incentives to adopt more than one.

SAN DIEGO, CA β To help nearly 200 kittens find a home, the San Diego Humane Society is offering residents an opportunity to adopt a kitten at a reduced price through the rest of June.
The organization has more than 180 adoptable kittens available for $25 each. Adopters can also bring home a second kitten for $5.
"Every animal who is adopted makes space for another animal who is in urgent need of care,β said Jessica Des Lauriers, chief operating officer for the San Diego Humane Society. "Adoption specials like this one help to find homes for these animals and bring attention to the issue of cat overpopulation in our community."

Each kitten has already been spayed or neutered, microchipped and has been vaccinated, the society said. Adopters will get a small bag of kitten food and adopter support from the society for the rest of the cat's life.
The "become smitten with a kitten" initiative will help the society care for more than 6,000 kittens this year, according to the organization.
