SAN DIEGO - A San Diego thrill-seeker is recovering from a wingsuit BASE jumping accident which he filmed.

Eric Dossantos, who is "active-duty military" according to a GoFundMe page set up to help with the medical bills, was wingsuit jumping in the Charmonix, France last month when he clipped a tree and fell to the ground.

The San Diegan reportedly lay in the forest for more than three hours until he was rescued.

Dossantos fractured several bones and lacerated his liver, according to the GoFundMe page.

"There were things I was not aware of in my last few seconds of flight, and some things I was aware of," Dossantos said in an interview with BASE jumping site Top Gun Base. "My skill level and knowledge pool was not high enough to keep me from stalling into the trees, but I knew the best chance of surviving my impact into the trees was to keep a flying position at all costs."
