Wise Ox Is Going Whole Hog For BBQ Month In San Diego
Get fired up! The North Park, old-school-style butcher has "Wagyu Weekend," "Low + Slow Ox Barbecue" and "Sausage Release Days" on calendar.

SAN DIEGO, CA β National Barbecue Month β the month of May for BBQ aficionados β is underway. And to aid those thrill-of-the-grill celebrations, The Wise Ox Butcher + Eatery in San Diego is lining up smoking-hot specials of meals and cuts prepped for home grilling.
Among upcoming deals: the "Low + Slow Ox Barbecue" beginning at 11 a.m. on Saturdays, May 15 and May 29, until supplies run out.
This weekend, May 15-16, also is "Wagyu Weekend" at The Wise Ox, with fresh cuts for New York and rib-eye steaks, burgers and tri-tip, plus pairable side dishes.

Tuesdays are sausage release days, featuring mushroom & Swiss on May 18, and bacon chili cheddar on May 25. And lastly, May 28 will be a nod to National Brisket Day, with brisket burgers as the main event.
The establishment in the North Park neighborhood is part of the Hillcrest-based Trust Restaurant Group and reminiscent of an old-school butcher shop. Wise Ox also sells such deli-style takeout as Philly cheese steaks, double-cheeseburgers and house-smoked bologna sandwiches, plus drinks and desserts.

The Wise Ox, at 2855 El Cajon Blvd., is open Tuesdays to Saturdays, 10 a.m. - 7 p.m., and Sundays to Mondays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Follow this link for more info.
