Hi there.
I'm Kelly – your Patch editor. I know I already said hi in my welcome video, but chances are if you read the newspaper you actually already sort of met me even before that.
That's right; this article about becoming a professional triathlete was about me.

In fact, as you're reading this, I'm up in Sonoma racing a half-Ironman.
Since racing as a pro is a sort of odd thing, I wanted to say feel free to ask any questions you'd like. Every time I'm swimming or setting up my bike on my trainer (this is a bike trainer) at the Drake track, people have questions. So, don't be shy.

I also wanted to ask you a question: How do you balance everything?
Maybe it's not triathlon. Maybe it's ice-skating. Maybe you run a side business and you have a full-time job and you have three kids. Maybe you're trying to make it as an actor. Chances are, though, that you have to balance a lot of different things. And I need to know your tricks.
Obviously, being a professional triathlete is not my only job (welcome to Patch). This means I have to balance my training in between breaking news – difficult when breaking news doesn't happen on a schedule.
So, tell me: what do you do?
