FRIDAY:
Tonight is the last of a series of Picnics in the Plaza hosted on the San Anselmo Town Hall lawn on Fridays over the summer. The theme for tonight's picnic is Hawaiian -- so dress in Hawaii-gear, bring a luau and come enjoy music, food and good friends.

- Time: 5 to 8 p.m.
- The town of San Anselmo is inviting everyone to a picnic in the Town Hall Plaza! This new Friday night event series is scheduled for Friday evenings from 5-8 p.m. through Aug. 27. Bring your dinner and drinks to downtown San Anselmo, or visit a local restaurant for food to go, and join friends new and old for a community picnic. Music and activities for children are provided. Don't miss this opportunity to gain some environmentally friendly and fun tips for creating your own sustainable garden paradise! Looking for some good listening on a Sunday afternoon? Then check out the Lonestar Retrobates at 19 Broadway at 3 p.m. on Aug. 29. The Lonestar Retrobates (formerly known as The Lone Star Band) is an eight-piece western swing band based out of Northern California. Their unique fusion of retro swing and West Coast Cow Jazz is where Ella Fitzgerald meets Bob Wills.
The current Lonestar Retrobates members consist of Mylos Sonka on pedal steele and fiddle, Kevin McConnell on guitar, BE Adams on vocals, Greg Dunn on upright bass, Pete Lind on drums and vibes, Brian Campbell on saxophone, Fiddle Ray on, that's right you guessed it, fiddle and their newest member Ray "Idaho Slim" Green on trumpet.
Swing to the sounds of the Lonestar Retrobates at this free show. Doors open at 2 p.m. and the show begins at 3 p.m.
