Best of Winner: Sorella's Caffe

The first thing that becomes apparent in our inaugural is that there are a lot of very good Italian restaurants in our towns.

Though there was some debate over what qualified as an Italian restaurant, Cindy Ross had a good point in the comments of our , "If nothing else this is reminding me how lucky we are to have so many good places to eat in Fairfax and San Anselmo, regardless of how we classify them."

With so many good places, it was hard to pick just one best Italian restaurant. But, the winner is: .

Although nearby recieved 40 votes by 9 a.m. on Friday to Sorella's 31 votes, we also weighed in the number of comments in support of each place and positive reviews posted on the restaurant's business listing.

Sorella's, then, was the clear winner.

Laura Walker wrote in her review of the Fairfax favorite, "Love it. Local, reliable service, atmosphere and product!! The Steak with garlic and blue cheese dominates. This is where I go whenever I get the chance to get out. Who cares if you have to wait for a table on Friday night!! You get to catch up with locals and sip on complimentary wine."

Sorella's on Bolinas Road is named for the two sisters who run it, Soyara and Sonia. (Sorella is Italian for sister.)

The family affair is known for its complimentary wine, Parmesan cheese wheels to kick off your meal, and gummy bears and anima crackers as an after-dinner treat.
