Boater Killed on Tomales Bay in Crabbing Accident
Victim was pulled off his small boat near Dillon Beach when his leg became tangled with a crab pot, county fire officials said.

A boater was killed while out on Tomales Bay this morning after he fell in the water while dropping a crab pot, according to the Marin County Fire Department.
The victim was pulled off his small boat near Dillon Beach shortly after 9:30 this morning when his leg became tangled in a rope attached to the crab pot, Battalion Chief Mike Giannini said.
The pot pulled the man, who was not wearing a life jacket, into the water as it sank.

The man was dead by the time rescuers arrived on the scene, Giannini said. The National Park Service will investigate the incident, Giannini said.
