Driver Severely Injured In Rollover Crash In San Anselmo

The 31-year-old​​ man, who was the only occupant of the Jeep​, was apparently ejected and found in the roadway, police said.

SAN ANSELMO, CA — A driver was severely injured Tuesday morning in a rollover crash in San Anselmo, authorities said.

The solo-vehicle collision was reported shortly before 7 a.m. at The Hub on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard. As the Jeep Cherokee approached Spaulding Street, it swerved into the westbound Sir Francis Drake lanes, rolled over and stopped adjacent to the main intersection, according to Central Marin Police Authority.

"The Jeep was observed by other law enforcement agencies in the area shortly before the collision as it was traveling at a high rate of speed," police spokesperson Margo Rohrbacher said. "The vehicle was never observed by Central Marin Police units prior to the collision."

The 31-year-old driver, who was the only occupant of the Jeep, was apparently ejected and found in the roadway, Rohrbacher said. Ross Valley Fire paramedics treated the man and took him to MarinHealth Medical Center in Greenbrae.

Central Marin and San Rafael police officers are investigating the collision. Investigators have yet to determine if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash.

The westbound lanes of Sir Francis Drake Boulevard remained closed for several hours while authorities investigated the incident and processed the scene.
