Downed Power Lines Prompt Sig-Alert On Highway 1 In Marin County
A tree fell onto the highway, blocking the roadway and knocking down power lines, according to the California Highway Patrol.

MARIN COUNTY, CA – Downed power lines on state Highway 1 left hundreds of customers without power and prompted authorities to issue a Sig-alert Wednesday morning in unincorporated Marin County.
A tree fell onto the highway, blocking the roadway and knocking down power lines around 3:40 a.m. south of Sir Francis Drake Boulevard in Olema, according to the California Highway Patrol. Both lanes were closed until the tree was partially cleared from the northbound lane around 5:15 a.m. The southbound lane remained closed and one-way traffic control was in effect.
Pacific Gas and Electric reported that around 2,000 customers in the area of the road closure were without power at one point. By 8 a.m., around 70 customers still had no power, including the Bear Valley Visitor Center, according to Point Reyes National Seashore.
