Fairfax Applicants Sought For Town’s Top Cop Search Panel

Two at-large selections will be part of a seven-member Community Interview Panel for the Fairfax Chief of Police.

FAIRFAX, CA — Want a voice in selecting this town’s next Top Cop?

If so, Fairfax town officials want to hear from you.

The town is seeking applicants to serve as an at-large member on the Community Interview Panel for the Fairfax Chief of Police.

The two at-large selections will be among seven members of a panel that will play a role in replacing Chief Chris Morin, who retired last year.

The community panel requested by town staff will also include members of the towns Racial Equity and Social Justice Committee, Police Practices and Public Safety Alternatives subcommittee members, and a chamber and business representative.

Interim Police Chief Rico Tabaranza, who late last year replaced Morin, will be included in the selection process, town officials said.
