Fairfax Backs Pride Proclamation

The proclamation encompasses LGBTQ+ people of all races, ethnicities and social classes.

FAIRFAX, CA — The Fairfax Town Council last week passed a resolution in support of the LGBTQ+ community proclaiming June as Pride Month.

The resolution said the town through its proclamation aims to celebrate diversity by inspiring equity, creating alliances, and establishing safe environments in schools and throughout its community.

The council voted to endorse the proclamation at its June 2 meeting.

“… because of the acts of courage of the millions who spoke out to demand justice, and of those who quietly toiled and pushed for progress, our country has made great strides in recognizing what these brave individuals long knew to be true in their hearts – that no person should be judged by anything but the content of their character”

Fairfax will fly the rainbow LGBTQ+ Pride Flag at its Town Hall this month to “further symbolize the Town’s viewpoint in celebrating the diversity of and support for the Town’s LGBTQ+ community.”
