Fairfax Seeks ‘Citizen Scientists’ For Earth Day Celebration
The April 25 event will be held at the at the Loma Alta Open Space Preserve from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.
FAIRFAX, CA — The town of Fairfax is seeking “citizen scientists” for its upcoming Earth Day celebration.
The town is inviting the public to join in a “Bioblitz,” a survey in which a group attempts to document as many species as possible in a specific time frame.
The April 25 event will be held at the at the Loma Alta Open Space Preserve from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.
COVID-19 restrictions will be in effect.

The event will include some wildlife photography tips.
"It’s a great way to get to know a place, local animals and plants, and collect real scientific data," the town said in a statement promoting the event.

The event is the result of a partnership between the town’s Artist in Residence program and Fairfax Open Space Committee.
Artist in Residence and Chair of Fairfax Open Space Susan Pascal Beran co-organized the event with Heather Duplaisir, the Fairfax Open Space Committee's newest member.
