Fairfax Town Council Moves To Draft Climate Action Plan

The virtual meeting will be held Wednesday from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.

FAIRFAX, CA — The Fairfax Town Council will hold a joint study session next week with the Climate Action Committee to discuss the drafting of a Climate Action Plan.

The virtual meeting will be held Wednesday from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.

“The Fairfax Climate Action Committee has spent the last 18 months crafting a draft of a Climate Action Plan, developed to help us achieve zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2030,” the town said in a news release announcing the meeting.

“This is definitely an ambitious goal, but it is also vitally important.”

Fairfax hit is previous goal of reducing greenhouse gases by 20 percent by 2020 two years ahead of schedule, town officials said.

“Fairfax is a Town that faces challenges and succeeds,” town officials said.

Public comments can be submitted on the Climate Action Plan’s draft page.

The meeting agenda will be available Friday on the town’s Public Meetings Page.
