Fairfax Town Manager Takes New Role

Garrett Toy has accepted an offer to become the city of Sonoma's top administrator.

FAIRFAX, CA — The town of Fairfax’s top administrator has taken a new role with a different municipality.

Garrett Toy has accepted a new position as Sonoma’s city manager.

Toy, who has served as Fairfax’s town manager since 2013, will start in his new role on July 20, the city of Sonoma said in a news release.

Before coming to Fairfax, Toy served Marin County and the cities of Morgan Hill, Stockton and Fairfield.

Toy also currently serves as Fairfax’s public works director, human resources manager and risk manager. He also serves as executive officer of the Ross Valley Fire Department (a four-agency Joint Powers Authority).
