Bela is the creator of “Park(ing) Day,” a global participatory art and design activism project launched by Rebar in 2005.
The global event is described as a day in which street parking spaces are repurposed into tiny parks and sites for public art, play, and design activism.

A moderated discussion will follow the virtual presentation, which will be held Tuesday.
The town amid the pandemic waived the permit fees and design review process typically associated with the use of outdoor public spaces in support of local businesses.
“Many communities around the country are hoping to leverage the temporary use of outdoor public spaces, particularly the use of public parking, to create Parklets,” town officials said in a statement announcing the event.
“Parklets reflect the diversity and creativity of the people and organizations who sponsor and design them. They also reflect a City or Town's commitment to encouraging walking and bicycling, which strengthen our communities.”
The presentation will be held on Zoom at Tuesday at 6 p.m.
