Iconic Marin Furniture Store Gets New Digs

SAN RAFAEL, CA — An iconic San Rafael furniture shop has ended a run of nearly 58 years at its historic location.

Scandinavian Designs has opened a new location at 600 Francisco Boulevard West in San Rafael, a 37,000 square foot location on the site of a since-shuttered Toys "Я" Us store.

The store had been located at 1212 Fourth Street for parts of seven decades.

"This move is about improving and elevating the customer's in-store shopping experience," Scandinavian Designs Senior Director Cody Eide said in a statement.

"After almost 58 years of business in San Rafael, our modern furniture has become a staple for so many in this area. The fresh redesign of the new San Rafael showroom invites both longtime and new customers to enjoy an easy shopping experience filled with inspiration for modern interior design."
