One Tam Event: Wildlife Picture Index Volunteer Field Assistant Training
Be a part of the Marin Wildlife Picture Index Project, a One Tam citizen science initiative aimed at studying wildlife on public lands around Mt. Tamalpais! As part of the project, trained volunteers assist agency staff as they hike to some of the most remote locations in Marin to service the cameras and download photos. Attend this required training session to learn about the project and the basics of maintaining cameras. This work is suitable for ages 18 and up, and requires volunteers to commit to two full field days per quarter. To access the cameras, volunteers will hike on varied terrain, with potential exposure to poison oak, ticks, heat, and rain. Field days will be during the week, begin at various locations around Mt. Tam, and will require an early start! Space is limited. Register here!
