A White Hill Middle School teacher was placed on leave after students reported seeing “inappropriate images” on a classroom projection screen on Thursday.

The Ross Valley School District in Marin County is investigating the incident, the district’s superintendent Rick Bagley said. White Hill Middle School Principal David Finnane notified the school’s students’ parents about the incident, and Fairfax police also were notified, Bagley said.

Police are no longer investigating the incident, Bagley said. Bagley said he could not confirm reports the images were pornographic. In the notification to parents, Finnane said staff is still “piecing together what exactly happened and when, how and who was responsible.” Bagley said the unidentified teacher has been placed on leave.

Fairfax Police Chief Christopher Morin did not return calls for comment today. The police log mentions a report was taken after a request by a citizen at 8:03 p.m. Thursday to talk to an officer about an incident involving a juvenile at the school. White Hill Middle School in Fairfax serves approximately 760 students in grades 6-8 from San Anselmo and Fairfax.
