Like Mother, Like Daughter: San Anselmo Mother's Day Photos

We are celebrating Mother's Day 2018 by sharing mother-daughter lookalike photos.

SAN ANSELMO, CA — Whether it's through their personality, looks, hobbies or a combination of everything, daughters become a reflection of the woman who raised them. With Mother's Day 2018 right around the corner, we are celebrating that special bond by inviting Patch readers across California to share their "mother-daughter lookalike" photos.

San Anselmo resident Mona Steinberg sent us this sweet photo of her and her younger daughter, Rachel. The picture was taken May 5, at a surprise 18th birthday party for Rachel at The Melting Pot in Larkspur.

The pair have always been told how much they look alike, Mona said.

"I always say she is much prettier inside and out, but I love the fact that despite our 40 years between us, we can share some of our clothes and shoes, share a love of musicals, fashion and travel, and also share some of the same habits – good and let's just say opportunities for personal growth," she said.

Now, she is preparing for her daughter to go off to college.

"I love her – and her sister – with all my heart and soul and could not be more proud," Mona said.

"And as I prepare for her to leave for college in August, I look forward to learning from her and to our relationship evolving into an adult relationship. But she will always be my baby girl; I will always be her mom. And I will always love her to the moon and back."

Happy Mother's Day, Mona!
