Fatal Marin Pedestrian Crash Probed

The downtown San Rafael crash occurred Tuesday morning.

SAN RAFAEL, CA — A pedestrian was killed Tuesday morning in a downtown San Rafael traffic collision, police said.

Officers responded at around 8 a.m. to a report of the crash at the corner of Fourth and G streets and immediately administered CPR to the unresponsive victim according to police.

The victim was identified by the Marin County Coroner’s Office as Elida Delgado Rodriguez, a 73-year-old San Rafael woman, The Marin Independent Journal reports.

The initial investigation revealed the driver of large white box truck traveling northbound on G Street fatally struck a pedestrian in a crosswalk, police said.

The pedestrian was walking westbound at the intersection according to police.

The driver remained on the scene, police said.

Drugs or alcohol are not believed to be a factor in the collision according to police.

The incident remains under investigation, police said.
