Fairfax Police are reporting that a string of car vandalisms occurred overnight in central Fairfax. Approximately 12 cars were keyed or etched into with a rock or sharp object, according to police. At least one car also had its mirror broken and a number of windows were etched.
The vandalisms predominantly took place in central Fairfax, with reports coming in on Bolinas Avenue, Cascade Drive, Forrest Avenue, and Hickory Drive.
Earlier this year Fairfax and San Anselmo experienced a rash of car vandalisms over a three-month period starting in February. In 125 incidents, 130 tires were slashed and eight cars were scratched. Gabriel Raphael Cokinos, 32, was arrested in April in connection with these incidents and pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor accounts of vandalism.

Cokinos, who is out on bail, was sentenced earlier today to 150 days in the county jail and ordered to pay restitution to the victims and write a public letter of apology.
According to the police, the vandalisms that occurred last night had a similar M.O. to the earlier incidents. However, while Cokinos is wanted for questioning, at this time police said there is an ongoing investigation and it is not clear if the incidents are connected.
