Ross Valley Players Stages 'The Children’s Hour'
The classic Lillian Hellman tale was originally banned from some theaters when it debuted in the 1930s.

ROSS, CA – Community theater troupe Ross Valley Players, now in its 88th year, opens 2018 with its production of "The Children's Hour," a play once banned from stages in London and Boston when first debuted in 1934.
Nevertheless, "The Children’s Hour," written by Lillian Hellman, remains a significant contribution to contemporary American theater with its storyline showcasing the destructive power of lies. The play depicts two longtime friends who run a boarding school for girls, and when one devious student spreads a malicious rumor about the two women, their lives are tragically altered.
Performances are at the Ross Valley Players' Barn Theatre, at 30 Sir Francis Drake Blvd. in Ross, Thursdays to Sundays from Jan. 18 through Feb. 11.
