SAN ANSELMO, CA — Keeping a home garden green while adhering to water-use restrictions amid a historic drought is no easy task.

The town of San Anselmo is holding a virtual event next month that aims to help residents meet that challenge.

Marin Master Gardener Lois Stevens will provide home gardeners with an overview of how and why gardeners should provide infrequent watering for developing drought tolerance and keeping plants healthy.

This presentation will focus on root depths and their up-take of water and nutrients as well as how to efficiently water plants based upon Marin's climate and soil types.

The event will be held virtually July 1 from 1 to 2 p.m.
