San Anselmo Police: 300 CDs stolen, juveniles misled by online suicide prank

Wednesday, Aug. 11

Juveniles: Three juveniles were walking in the area of Scenic and San Anselmo Avenues at 2:17 a.m. and being loud. Officers transported two of them home; one was picked up by a parent.

Suspicious Circumstances: A resident on Luna Lane reported that someone was standing at her door at 4:55 a.m.

Vandalism: There was graffiti on a building on Ross Avenue.

Grand Theft: A computer was stolen from a car on San Anselmo Avenue.

Road Rage: A man in a white pickup was driving down Sir Francis Drake Boulevard threatening to punch other drivers at 10:59 a.m.

Petty Theft: Three-hundred CDs were taken from a residence on Fern Lane.

Suspicious Circumstances: A woman was reported screaming from a fight at a residence on Woodland Avenue at 6 p.m. An officer contacted a subject, who was yelling at his video game.

Juveniles: There was a loud group of juveniles playing football in the street on Broadmoor Avenue at 10:51 p.m.

Suspicious Circumstances: A resident on Luna Lane reported that someone was standing on her front door at 10:57 p.m. Officer responded and determined there was no merit.

Tuesday, Aug. 10

Accident: A car collided into a parked car on Sycarmore Avenue at 7:56 a.m.

Vandalism: Someone has been stealing fruit from a resident's trees on Jordan Avenue.

Disturbing the Peace: A man was screaming and broke the screen door of a house on San Anselmo Avenue at 5:02 p.m. There was a woman in the house with a baby. Officers contacted both parties and determined it was a verbal argument over money. The man decided to leave for the evening and that he would repair the door tomorrow.

Petty Theft: A bike ramp was stolen out of a yard on Arroyo Avenue the week before.

Family Disturbance: A woman reported threatening behavior from her teenage son on Hillside Avenue at 5:29 p.m.

Monday, Aug. 9

Suspicious Circumstances: Two juveniles contacted an officer on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard at 12:05 a.m. They told the officer they'd been sent by an online friend to look for a suicidal subject who had cut himself. It was determined that the online friend lived in Indiana. The sheriff there conducted a welfare check and determined that it had been a prank and that everyone was fine; they were reprimanded regarding their behavior.

Sleeper: An officer contacted a subject sleeping in his car on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard at 3:38 a.m. The subject is homeless and had stopped to rest on his way through town. He was warned regarding the ordinance and he left the area.

All other offenses: Someone painted the curb blue on Sequoia Drive to simulate a
handicapped space.

Petty Theft: A resident's bike was taken from his driveway on Floribel Avenue.

Burglary: Items were stolen from a car through a partially open window on Hilldale Drive.

Advice: A resident on Calumet Avenue received a call from a car dealership in Georgia that someone was using her identity to buy a vehicle.

Petty Theft: Belongings were taken from an unlocked truck on Hillcrest Court.

Petty Theft: Outgoing mail was stolen from a mailbox on Greenfield Avenue.

Suspicious Person: A man was begging for money on Center Boulevard, but kept falling down at 2:52 p.m. The resident who reported it wasn't sure if he was sober. Officers responded and determined he was sober. He was warned and moved along.

Driving without a License: At a traffic stop at Bridge Avenue and Sir Francis Drake Boulevard at 6:03 p.m., an office determined that a driver was driving while unlicensed. He was cited and released and his car was left parked for a licensed driver.
