San Anselmo Police Log: July 26-28

Wednesday, July 28

Hazard: A big rig on Sequoia Drive attempted to turn around at 11:58 a.m., got stuck, and the driver detached the tractor from the trailer and left the 40' trailer blocking the roadway. A construction crew in the neighborhood, who were not associated with the truck, assisted in moving the trailer so it could be removed from the area.

Accident: There was a non-injury collision on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard at 2:29 p.m.

Found Property: A bike was found in front of a residence on Ross Avenue and turned into the police department.

Shoplifting: A juvenile was cited and released for shoplifting on Center Boulevard at 4:32 p.m.

Burglary: A woman reported that her house on Ross Avenue was burglarized at 8:38 p.m.

Vandalism: A rock was thrown through a window on Fern Lane at 9:52 p.m.

Disturbing the Peace: There was an altercation at a residence on San Anselmo Avenue at 10:56 p.m. 
An officer responded and determined there had been a verbal altercation.

Tuesday, July 27

Sexual Assault: A resident was a victim of a sexual assault on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard at 6:52 a.m.

Driving on a Suspended License: There was an unlicensed driver reported on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard at 2:26 p.m. Officers located the driver and vehicle and enforced a traffic stop. The driver was found to be driving on a suspended license. He was cited and released.

Suspicious Person: A subject was seen checking doors on a building on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard at 6:01 p.m.

Public Intoxication: A man appeared intoxicated and fell down on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard at 6:07 p.m. Officers responded and found a man to be intoxicated in public. He was arrested and cited for public intoxication and probation violation.

Noise: A resident's neighbor on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard was yelling and banging on the walls at 7:03 p.m.

Disturbing the Peace: A group of four juveniles was fighting on Woodland Avenue at 7:23 p.m. and one was on the ground. Officers contacted the juveniles and determined that they had boxing equipment and were only play fighting.

Noise: There was banging coming from inside a vacant house on Meadowcroft Drive at 8:33 p.m. An officer contacted a neighbor who is helping the property owner and was removing some pillars. He was advised of the ordinance and will stop working.

Suspicious Person: Two suspicious men were loitering on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard at 8:02 p.m. An officer checked the area and remained to observe, but no subjects were seen.

Monday, July 26

Vandalism: A resident on Madrone Avenue took their tire in for repair and found it had been slashed.

Missing Person: A 17-year-old hadn't returned home to Butterfield Avenue since Sunday and there was no answer on her cell phone.

Suspicious Person: A suspicious man on Center Boulevard was carrying a beer at 2:29 p.m.

Suspicious Person: A man that the police were looking for earlier had returned to Center Boulevard at 3:27 p.m. Officers checked the area, but couldn't find him.

Municipal Code Violation: A man with a pushcart was selling ice cream on Veterans Plaza at 3:36 p.m.

Suspicious Person: a subject was hitchhiking on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard at 4:43 p.m., but seemed aggravated.

Begging: A man was pan-handling on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard at 7:22 p.m. and when people said no he would get aggressive.

Vandalism: An officer located graffiti on a stop sign at Bridge Avenue and Center Boulevard and at Center and Sycamore, Madrone and Sycamore, Karl and Saunders.

Suspicious Circumstances: A woman on Mariposa Avenue woke up with someone choking her at 9:50 p.m. The room was dark and she heard a male voice. She could hear her roommates laughing and she was unsure if it was a prank. Officers contacted her and determined her bedroom door was locked the whole time; they checked the house, which was all clear. She believes it may be a side effect of medication or possibly a night fright.
