San Anselmo Police Station Readies For RX Take-Back Day
Central Marin Police's San Anselmo and Larkspur facilities will be open Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to accept unwanted medications.
SAN ANSELMO, CA — The San Anselmo Police Station on Saturday will accept prescription medications that have expired or are no longer in use.
The Central Marin Police’s San Anselmo and Larkspur facilities will accept the medications Saturday as part of RX Take-Back Day, a national event in its 10th year that has already collected more than 13 million pounds of expired, unused, and unwanted prescription medications have been collected.
Residents who have prescription medications that have expired or that they are no longer using are encouraged to drop them off at the San Anselmo station (525 San Anselmo Avenue) or the Larkspur (250 Doherty Drive).

The droop-off locations will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The service is free and anonymous.

“Old and unused prescription medications are a public safety issue, leading to accidental poisoning, overdose, and abuse,” the Central Marin Police Authority said in a statement.
“Pharmaceutical drugs can be just as dangerous as street drugs when taken without a prescription or a doctor’s supervision.”
