Water Balloon Damages A Car Mirror

The San Anselmo Police Log for July 26-29 includes a residential bon fire, a reckless female driver and a water ballooning.

 

Sunday, July 29

Loud party: 3:15 a.m. Kensington Rd. Caller reported a loud party in the area. Officers responded and contacted the responsible party. They were advised of the complaint.

Barking dog: 1:34 p.m. San Rafael Avenue. A citizen reported a barking dog. The owner of the dog was contacted and was advised of the complaint.

BBQ: 1:45 p.m. Spruce Avenue. Caller reported the smell of smoke in the area. Fire will not be responding; it was determined to be a barbecue.

Collision with DUI driver: 4:03 p.m. Sir Francis Drake Blvd. A citizen reported a man was driving erratically and then he hit another vehicle. Officers responded and located the motorist. It was determined that the driver was driving under the influence. A man was arrested and booked into Marin County Jail without incident. A collision report was also taken. The driver of the other vehicle that was hit left the scene prior to arrival, but was later contacted. He was evaluated by paramedics at his home, but he refused further treatment.

Guitar jam: 4:36 p.m. Saunders Avenue and Center Blvd. A citizen reported two subjects were playing amplified guitars. Officer responded and found it quiet on arrival.

Lots of juveniles: 10:40 p.m. Sir Francis Drake Blvd. Officer contacted a large group of juveniles. It was determined they were returning from a sporting event and were waiting for rides.

Suspicious circumstances: 11:31 p.m. Karl Avenue. Caller reported two subjects were seen walking up and down her neighbor’s driveway and were speaking loudly. Officers responded and determined the subjects were housesitting. They were advised of the complaint.

 

Saturday, July 28

Disturbing the peace: 4:23 a.m. Barber Avenue. Caller reported a male and a female were arguing outside her residence. Caller stated she could hear a horn honking and a female subject yelling "help, help." Officers responded and contacted all involved parties. The mater was mediated and a report was taken for documentation.

Barking dog: 9:27 a.m. Belle Avenue. Caller reported a barking dog and believed the owner wasn’t home. Officer responded and left a notice at the door.

Vehicle on loan: 9:28 a.m. Florence Avenue. Caller reported he lent his vehicle to a known person, but they haven’t returned it. Officer met with the RP and took a report.

Animal complaint: 1:19 p.m. Sir Francis Drake Blvd. Caller reported a dog was left in a vehicle and was barking and seemed to be in distress. Officer and humane contacted the owner who was warned. It was noted there was water in the vehicle and the windows were partially cracked. The vehicle was also parked under a tree.

Lost property: 6:57 p.m. Sir Francis Drake Blvd. Caller reported a lost sweater.

Megaphone: 8:04 p.m. Woodland Avenue. Anonymous caller reported a group of juveniles were playing with a megaphone. Officer responded and found the juveniles were with a supervising adult. They were advised of the complaint.

Water ballooning: 10:24 p.m. Center Blvd. and San Anselmo Avenue. Caller reported a water balloon was thrown at his vehicle and it damaged his mirror. Caller wasn't sure if it came from a passing vehicle or from someone on the street. Officer checked the area, but couldn't find anyone. Reporting person declined a report. 

Sleeper: 11 p.m. San Anselmo Avenue. Caller reported a female subject was asleep under a table and had a white parka covering her. Officers responded and contacted her. She was advised of the ordinance and was moved along.

 

Friday, July 27

Unlicensed driver: 1:05 p.m. San Anselmo Avenue. Pursuant to a traffic stop, a subject was determined to be an unlicensed driver. The subject was issued a citation and released.

Parking violation: 2:56 p.m. Essex Avenue. Caller reported a vehicle was parked in a red zone causing a hazard. Reporting person stated he almost hit the vehicle as he came around the corner. Officer responded and the vehicle was cited.

Animal complaint: 6:20 p.m. Pine Street. Caller reported two dogs were in a vehicle barking and appeared in distress. Officer responded and made contact with the responsible. The dogs were determined to not be in distress.

Suspicious circumstances: 10:03 p.m. Camino De Herrera. Reporting person said there was a bon fire at the noted residence that was not contained and there were three male subjects standing by it. Officers responded and found the fire was extinguished. Fire responded to spray down the hot ashes. Matter was abated.

 

Thursday, July 26

Barking dog: 8:08 a.m. Sequoia Drive. Caller reported a dog was barking in the area. Officer checked the area and was unable to locate any dogs barking.

Reckless driving: 11:41 a.m. Sir Francis Drake Blvd. and Redhill Avenue. Caller reported a female driver was cutting in and out of traffic, changing lanes and almost caused multiple accidents. Officers checked the area and the vehicle was not located.

Burglary: 3:38 p.m. San Anselmo Avenue. Caller reported his residence was broken into, unknown what was taken. Officer contacted the RP and a report was taken.

Petty theft: 3:41 p.m. San Anselmo Avenue. Reporting person reported his license plates were stolen. The license plates were mailed back to the RP after the sale of a vehicle; the plates arrived at the San Anselmo Post Office, but never arrived at his residence. Officer took a report for stolen plates. 

Vehicle complaint: 7:11 p.m. Ash Avenue. Caller reported there is a motorcycle that belongs to a resident in the area and it possibly has an illegal exhaust. Reporting person stated the motorcycle is extremely loud. Officer responded and the motorcycle was not located.
