Trisha Hopfe is being remembered by her long-time friend, Jessica Bedford, as being a fun-loving person with a "heart of gold."

Hopfe was found dead in Marin on June 6 by a hiker east of Olema near the intersection of Sir Francis Drake and Platform Bridge Road at the Point Reyes National Seashore. Police are investigating Hopfe's death and calling it "suspicious."

According to Bedford, no one knows why Hopfe would have been in Marin.

"It was uncharacteristic of her to be in Marin," Bedford said. "I don't know of anyone she would know up there."

Bedford and Hopfe had been friends for over 13 years. Bedford says she and Hopfe have a lot of history together after having been roommates for several years.

Bedford told Patch during a phone interview that Hopfe's favorite color was pink and that her friend was the kind of woman to always lend a helping hand.

"She [Hopfe] once helped me paint my salon seven times until I was happy with the color," Bedford said. "She was that person that never gave up. She always had a smile. Once you met her, you loved her. She was vivacious and outgoing."

At the time of her death, Hopfe, who was from Pleasanton and graduated from Village High School in 2000, was living with her boyfriend in Hayward.

Bedford says it has been really difficult for her and for Hopfe's family to deal with impact of Hopfe's death.

"We want people to remember her how she used to be," Bedford said.

Police officials told Patch that Hopfe's autopsy was completed and that they are awaiting the results from the doctor's report. Police have not released any suspect information.

Bedford is asking for anyone who may have seen Hopfe at any point in the last month, to contact investigators. Bedford also asks that anyone who recognizes the area where Hopfe was found to call with any information that might help with the investigation.

Anyone with information about Hopfe can call 415-473-7265.
