Buffer Zone between Residential area and the Commercial area.

It appears that the current unidentified Auto Repair facility you allowed to operate on the property at 750 Industrial Road in San Carlos is closing down. We did not appreciate you allowing a business to operate that emits cancer causing substances into the atmosphere as well as produces excessive noise from the business next door to our residential property. When the retail pump store went out of business years ago you invited us to be involved in the process and subsequent change of building usage to an auto repair facility. We complained about the smog service issues and came to an agreement with the owner and the City of San Carlos. When they went out of business a few years later we were not contacted when you changed the building usage again and allowed an auto body shop to begin business there. The building doesn't have an adequate collection system to control the emissions of many cancer causing chemicals used in the auto body repair process. Adhesives, primer, paint, chemicals used to clean parts, and other substances are emitted into the atmosphere adjacent to ours and our neighbors property. We will not allow the same type of business to operate there without a formal legal complaint without the proper equipment. You have no right to subject us to these chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer. We have the right to enjoy our property without having to be exposed to the excessive noise that we complained about, that you (Head Building Official Chris Valley) ignored nor the exposure to chemicals we have explained. The City of San Carlos should provide a Buffer Zone between the residential area and the business district to ensure our neighborhood Adults and Children don't have to be exposed to such issues. It's bad enough that we are forced to endure the construction noise and dust 7 days a week from the monolith being constructed nearby.
